From the Library of Congress Newsletter: PIO Visitor with Four Purple Hearts
Staff in the Public Information Office enjoyed a visit from Lt. Col Samuel Shumaker (left) on November 26 when he accompanied Mary Ann Duke, M.D. to apply for copyright registration for her book manuscript. Shumaker discussed his military career, which included service in the Korean and the Vietnam Wars, time as a prisoner of war in Korea, and receipt of four Purple Heart medals.
